HARARE – FC Platinum’s Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona are confident of sealing a move to Slovakia side FK Senika after spending three weeks on trials with the European club.
The duo is now awaiting for their parent club Aces Youth Soccer Academy to finalise the negotiations with the Slovakian side.
Mutasa said: “The coach was very happy with our performances and we are still waiting for Nigel Munyati (Aces Academy director) to finalise the negotiations.
“In Slovakia, we played three friendly matches and both of us played in all the matches and I’m confident something will work out.”
The two players returned on Wednesday to join the national Under-23 side as they prepare to take on South Africa in the first leg of the African Under-23 Championship final qualifier on Sunday.
Mutasa, who is the Young Warriors captain, is confident they will win the tie.
“I think it’s a big match but we are not under pressure. We need to take it like any other game we played before.
“This is a great opportunity for us as young players to showcase our talents as you know some football scouts will be watching the game.
“But before we think about being seen by scouts we need to put our nation first so that we will not put ourselves under unnecessary pressure.
“We know South Africa will be looking for a positive result and they have assembled a strong team so we need to be at our best.
“For us, we are fit for the game, we learnt new things in Europe and I think it will help us during Sunday’s game,” said Mutasa.
